The Heart of our Culture: Shannon Welch Wins Recogniise Employee Award for Workplace Wellbeing
You know how sometimes you just feel good about where you work? That sense of belonging, of being truly supported? Well, that feeling is something we all experience here at Property Assist, and it’s largely thanks to our amazing CEO, Shannon Welch. And guess what? She’s just been officially recognised for it!
We were absolutely bursting with pride the moment we first knew that Shannon had won Employii’s Recogniise Employee Award for Workplace Wellbeing in her role as Director.
A Bit About the Recogniise Employii Awards
So, what are these Recogniise Awards all about? Launched by Employii HR, they’re designed to shine a light on people who are truly making a difference, whether that’s at work or in their wider community. This is actually the very first year for Recogniise, which makes Shannon’s win even more special. We’re just so incredibly proud to see her dedication acknowledged in such a meaningful way.
Leading with Care: Shannon’s Commitment to Staff Wellbeing
I think we’ve all seen Shannon in action. She’s running a busy company, expanding across Australia, probably juggling a million things in her personal life – the works! But here’s the thing that always blows us away: despite that crazy schedule, Shannon always makes time for her staff. Always. She’s the kind of leader who doesn’t just talk about caring; she lives it. She makes sure everyone feels heard, truly valued, and genuinely supported.
“Shannon always has your back – she truly cares about the wellbeing of her staff and wants to see them succeed. I can truly say I wouldn’t be who I am today without her guidance, confidence and patience. Shannon is an amazing leader through and through.” – Tenika, Office Support
“What I admire most about Shan is how she always checks in. Not just about work, but about you as a person. Even when things get hectic, she makes the time to listen and support, and that says a lot about the kind of leader she is.” – Shane, Online Business Manager
“What I value is that Shannon is always there to support the team and is committed to growing the business. She also knows how to keep things real and light when you need it. This makes the whole team feel more connected and less stressed, even when things get busy.” – Freddie, Business Development Manager

“Shannon is a caring and supportive leader every single day. No matter what she has on her own plate, her team is always her top priority. She consistently makes sure that we love what we do and reminds us that she’s always there with a helping hand whenever we need it.
There was a time when I felt completely overwhelmed, but Shan took the time to sit down with me, (putting aside her own important tasks) to go through my processes and procedures to see how we could make things better and prevent burnout. And it didn’t stop there; she continued to check in and offer support to make sure I was okay.
It’s rare to find a workplace where you truly feel valued and supported, but Shan makes it feel so easy because it comes naturally to her.” – Sharmaine, Office Manager
That’s the Shannon we know, right? She built this amazing team culture from the ground up.
What’s Next for Property Assist (and Shannon!)
Honestly, we feel incredibly lucky to have Shannon at the helm. She guides Property Assist with so much empathy, integrity, and, as you can tell, a relentless focus on our wellbeing – even as she leads our growth across Australia. Her recognition is a beautiful testament to the positive culture she’s built here, and we’re genuinely excited to see where we all go together.

A massive congratulations, Shan, on this incredibly well-deserved win! Thank you for setting such an amazing example and for truly making Property Assist a workplace we’re proud to call home.
