From Perth to Nationwide: How I Grew Property Assist Across Australia

The Beginning of a Vision

I still remember the early days of Property Assist like they were yesterday.

Back then, it was just me and a small, scrappy team in Perth with a vision and a whole lot of determination. There were no guarantees, no clear roadmap, and definitely no safety net. But there was a belief—a deep-down knowing that this industry needed change, and that I could be part of it.

Why Property Assist Was Born

I started Property Assist because I saw firsthand how overwhelmed and unsupported property managers often felt. I had lived it myself. I knew the long hours, the endless paperwork, the difficult conversations, and the emotional exhaustion that came with trying to do it all. I knew how hard it was to feel appreciated. And I knew something had to shift.

I didn’t just want to offer a service—I wanted to offer relief, confidence, and support to the people who are too often overlooked in this industry. Property managers are the backbone of real estate, and it was time they had someone in their corner.

The Hustle and Heartache

Those early days were a mix of hustle and heartache. I wore all the hats—sales, scheduling, inspections, admin, you name it. There were moments I questioned whether I could really pull it off. There were weeks I didn’t sleep. I sacrificed weekends, time with family, and often my own wellbeing.

There were setbacks, like tech failures mid-report, rejections from offices that didn’t see the vision yet, and the constant pressure to prove myself in a field that didn’t really exist – outsourced inspections. But the purpose behind it all kept me going.

From One Client to Many

Slowly but surely, things started to shift. One client became three. Then ten. Then fifty. I found the right people, trained them the right way, and built a team that shared the same passion for service and detail.

Our inspections became known for their quality, our reliability became our reputation, and our name began to spread. We weren’t just meeting expectations—we were setting new ones.

Nationwide Growth and Impact

But expansion wasn’t just about growth—it was about impact. It was about creating opportunities across WA, then NSW, and QLD. It was about taking something small and turning it into something that could support hundreds of property managers around the country.

Growing into new states came with its own challenges—navigating different regulations, building remote teams, and staying connected to our core values. But every hurdle was worth it.

Building a Community

Today, we have 28 inspectors and counting. But more than that, we have a community. We have PMs who tell us we’ve changed their workload, their stress levels, and sometimes even their love for their job. That’s what makes it all worth it.

We’re not just another service provider. We’re an extension of your team. A silent partner that shows up, delivers, and helps you breathe a little easier.

Lessons from the Journey

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that growth doesn’t come from playing it safe. It comes from listening to your gut, pushing through the fear, and holding on to your why.

And if I’ve learned a second thing? It’s that community is everything. None of this would have been possible without the people who believed in the vision, the clients who gave us a chance, and the team who stood by my side.
